BRETT RUBIN ************************************************ BRETT RUBIN ENTERTAINMENT When Brett Rubin was 19 years old he bought his first set of turntables along with four crates of hip-hop records. It was a good first effort, but within one week Brett had sold all the hip-hop records and begun digging for electronic music at Gramaphone, and other famous Chicago record shops. Beginning with a deep trance sound that was big in the late 90s, Brett went on a 13 year musical journey. He experimented with many different styles and sounds ranging from house, deep house, tech house, techno, progressive, electro, breaks, and dubstep. This wide range of musical influences has helped form the genre-crossing style prominent in Rubin's sets today. Across the span of his carer, Rubin has had countless opportunities to share the decks with the biggest names in the industry. He has shared the stage with acts like; Tiesto, Sharam, Paul Oakenfold, Danny Teneglia, Bob Sinclair, Dj Dan, LA Riots, Second Sun, Lee Burridge, and hundreds more. Since moving to Las Vegas in 2005 Rubin has performed at virtually every major nightclub and pool party on the Strip, while being a staple of the afterhours scene. Rubin held residencies at Empire Ball Room and Seamless for 4 years prior to launching his own afterhours at the Artisan Boutique Hotel, which was quickly voted and remains the number one afterhours in Las Vegas today. Much like his successful afterhours, Brett has also been voted number one House Dj In Las Vegas. Brett is co-creator and music director of Black Rock Syndicate, one of the premiere sound stages at each year’s Burning Man Festival. Brett also performs on some of the other main stages each year, including Opulent Temple, and Distrikt. A seasoned veteran who knows how to read a crowd, Brett adapts his sound perfectly to fit appropriately with the environment. Since then he has been hooked and began DJing on vinyl by 1999. For years after that he was content playing smaller events until a first time trip to Burning Man in 2009. Coming home from the event he was determined to change his mindset and step up his DJing to new heights. When he first began DJing he was influenced by the West Coast Funky House that was lead by DJs like DJ Dan and Donald Glaude. Today his sound has evolved and he seamlessly transitions from Electro, Dubstep, House, Breaks, Glitch-Hop, Techno, and Progressive. A self proclaimed futurist with a love for technology, Jeremy strives to keep his finger on the pulse of the latest sounds and gear. Still having a love for vinyl, his timeline of gear has gone from Technics, Serato, Traktor, and now even USB drive on the CDJ-2000's. By 2010 he was playing major clubs in Las Vegas including Moon Nightclub at the Palms and Rok Vegas in the New York, New York. He also landed a residency for some Mansion Parties in Las Vegas that will go down as some of the coolest vibes Vegas had to offer in 2010. After attending Burning Man as merely a spectator in 2009 he made the jump to resident DJ in 2010 for a major theme camp called Black Rock Syndicate. In its Inaugural Year, Black Rock Syndicate hosted a slew of headlining DJs including DJ Dan, Lee Burridge, Elite Force, Donald Glaude, Hatiras, TJR, LA Riots, Will Bailey, David Carvahlo, DJ Frances, and Tayo. 2011 featured many highlights including a booking at the legendary Fox Theater in Pomona, CA. At Burning Man he had a tag team set with Hatiras and played alongside Scooter (of Scooter and Lavelle) on a solar powered art car from Chicago. He also closed for Jelo and opened for Plaza de Funk. On Halloween he teamed up with the Dancetronauts from San Jose, CA for the Official Las Vegas Halloween Parade After Party in Downtown Las Vegas. He also held a monthly residency for Temple on Saturdays nights at the House of Blues Foundation Room atop the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. On stage Jeremy makes it his goal to not only play the latest in cutting edge EDM but to also put on a show. When he is not DJing you will see him out supporting all the top international acts and local talent in Vegas as well as going to all the major festivals like EDC. He is also heavily involved in the local Burning Man and Arts community.
