Rehearsing, rehearsing and counting down to July 15th release party in Chicago!
“Growing up in Chicago and listening to Earth Wind & Fire, Sade, Sergio Mendes and Diana Ross, influenced Lisa’s style and musical taste. Her talents have deep roots in the Chicago music scene. In the city’s Mecca of jazz and blues, Deveaux was able to hone her craft in local jazz clubs and gain a loyal fan base. It was there that as a young girl she fell under the tutelage of the great vocalist Phyllis Hyman which led to her becoming the youngest background singer accompanying Phyllis and later lead to touring and backing Icon Barry White. James Walker from Jazz Chicago says “Lisa left the audience in awe. Her sparkling vocal instrument and ability to rearrange classics without committing sacrilege, impressed all in the audience”. Barry Towler from Soul Express wrote, “Lisa is an all-around talent whose album is every inch a winner and has a quality that easily rubs shoulders with vocal jazz heavy weights.” ”
