Bio
Born in Buenos Aires in 1972, Lionel emmigrated to Israel where he got exposed to music from many different regions.
He worked as guitarist and composer with Amit Poznansky, Eran Dinur and Khanoch Levine in theatre productions aswell as in different bands and groups.
He graduated in the Netherlands with 2nd phase degree of classical composition, having also specialized in Jazz guitar and orchestral conducting.
He composes for different ensembles and vocal groups and is also active as guitarist, arranger and producer.
He is currently a member of the multi-genre rock band Modest Midget.
About
Lionel loves music, and the different aspects of it. Intrigued by what makes a piece sound old, new, classical, jazzy or rock, and how you can blur the boundaries between the different styles.
Among the names with whom he worked are Sterling Campbell, Wouter Hamel, The Lerner & Moguilevsky "Klezmer" duo and singer-songwriter Laura Ros (Buri).
Alongside these names he also composes for different classical ensembles, choirs and close-harmony groups.
