In 1992, Linda was awarded yet another trophy, for "New Horizon Star of East Texas", by the arts and entertainment council. In 1997, she was asked by local city officials, to open a show for Miss America. She was also recognized for writing a song about a local missing girl, Kimberly Norwood, who disappeared in 1989. She recorded the song back in 1995, when it gained local attention. Linda is no stranger to the stage. She is able to reach young audiences, as well as older ones. Many have said that she has a wonderful stage presence, and star quality.
