Biography

Linc (Life Is Not Choreographed) born August 18, 1983 in Halifax, N.S. developed an affinity for hiphop at an early age while listening to "The Chronic" and  "Doggystyle" and playing ball.  Shortly thereafter he discovered Rakim and started to seriously pay attention to the content and message of the art form, diving into albums, learning every word and reading album liners for production credits.

Primarily into the west coast sound at the time, a friend whom he was at a record store with turned him on to Nas's "Illmatic" and Wu Tang's "Enter the 36 Chambers" on the same day. Within 24 hours Linc was trying to write his first verse and never looked back, spending most days freestyling and writing simple "battle" rhymes with friends.  Eventually this led to frequent freestyle battles at house parties where Linc always shined. (including one memorable occasion when he came up with a punchline about his boy being upstairs sleeping with his opponents girlfriend, which incidentally was actually happening at the time and the battle came to a quick and decisive end when the pair came downstairs together a few minutes later).

Backed by loyal supporters, he recorded a three track demo in 1999, unfortunately during this time Linc was also in the first stages of his long and troubling addiction with alcohol and drugs and the demo never made it into the hands of the people it was intended for.

Since that time he has worked hard to get his addictions and life under control and in 2006 he started work on his first full-length CD. The "Breakout Mixtape" was finished in 2007, a collection of tracks over jacked instrumentals, it was meant to serve as an introduction to the artist before his first official LP "Independent Like Me" drops this year. Due to financial constraints it wasn't pressed up right away but instead is available for Download on his website and will be packaged with the "Independent Like Me" album for free upon its release.
