Q: Will you album be a mix of English and Spanish?

A: Thank You Helen for your excellent question. In 2011 Mariachi music was added to the list of Intangible Cultural World Heritage in need of preservation by the United Nations. "Mariachi is a traditional music and fundamental element of Mexican culture, transmitting values, heritage, history and different Indian languages," the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation said. The list aims at ensuring "better visibility of this intangible cultural heritage. My songs are in spanish and Azteca language voice sounds imitating aztec flute with Veracruz style harps, horns and strings match the tone of my voice. Some songs are traditional songs(stories) passed down from hundreds of years and some are original mariachi composition by my composer and director. I will provide bi-lingual lyrics and history of the stories and meanings of each song. Thank You for your question and hope I answered the best I can. Love Lily Cortes Mariachi
