““There's a synergy among the three of us,” says Wielgosz, who sees Nyssen and Lopez trading solo ideas and inspiring each other as he keeps the beat where it needs to be. At Wednesday’s video shoot for Reaney’s Pick, the trio played an original, Before I Learned to Call Your Name. In keeping with its desire “to bring a new vibe to the blues,” the trio has added more and more originals to its classic covers. “(It’s) the musical combination in terms of what each of us brings to the table,” says Lopez. “We’re like kindred spirits,” Nyssen says of his rapport with Lopez in the frontline. “Bernie’s just a rock in there.” (Excerpt - full article and video available at link - click below!!!)”
"I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you and your band, the Li'l Blues Pill for the exceptional presentation you gave at our "Road to Memphis Competition" for the opportunity to represent the Great Lakes Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2011. I certainly was impressed with your delivery, as a three piece band. Great rhythm section and your guitarist is inspired, to say the least. Your respect and love for the material was most evident. Thanks again for your inspired entertainment. - Stephen Cole (Great Lakes Blues Society Vice Chairperson) Post-Road to Memphis from GLBS
"The David Rotundo Band plus the Li'l Blues Pill" Thanks to everyone who came out last night and made the show so special. The David Rotundo band rocked the joint with their high-powered rockin' blues and solid musicianship. David teased us all with his tantalizing harmonic stylings, then brought the house down with his sheer stamina. Wow! Thank you guys! And how about that Li'l Blues Pill from London? Those guys are sounding really good with their blues groove on - great vocals, excellent guitar, nice tight sound, and really good song choices. Thoroughly enjoyable.
“LI'L BLUES PILL SHOWS ARE NEVER TOUGH TO SWALLOW" Take two veteran blues musicians, add their younger protege, and the result is pretty far from the seasoned-meets-student set-up of that silly INXS Rock Star search. Local blues boys, Li'l Blues Pill starts with main men Rick Bardawill and Bern Mann. Bardawill has been playing in the Toronto music scene since the 80's, most notably as a member of The Heat. The bassist connected with Mann (real name: Bernie Wielgosz) who played with London blues outfits Little Boy Blues Band and The Fabulous Sheiks. The two have joined newcomer Joshua Lopez, who provides the Pill's guitar work.”
