Q: What was your inspiration behind I Wanna Fall In Love For Christmas?
A: This song was an answer to an earlier song, The Last First Kiss. The Last First Kiss is about how my "friend" (lol - me, of course) has messed up many of his past relationships by projecting what might be instead of just enjoying the moments. It was a relatively sad song looking back at a failed relationship. I wanted to create a song that looked at love in a more positive and hopeful way. As I was heading back from Thanksgiving dinner with my mom she was saying how happy she was that my sister had found someone to make her happy. Then she said to me that she was sure that I would find someone too someday. As I reflected on her words.... the song presented itself. I actually wrote most of the lyrics while I was chatting with a friend online.... I was definitely multitasking at the time. I had the song's rhythm and flow in my mind but did not get a melody or chord structure until the next morning. I went to my school at 6:30am and immediately went to the choral room. In less than 45 minutes I recorded the version that I have posted.
