Bio: LEFTY has been together since 2005 and is a band that doesn't like to fit neatly into a box. We are an original rock band with many influences. Our show is high energy and we love to play live and engage the crowd.

Q: Where did the name Lefty come from?
A: Great question! Before Lefty was formed, our jam space used to be used by other musicians and one of them had a banner on the wall from the Calgary Zoo that said "Do not feed the alligators unless you want to be called Lefty" but covered "alligators" with a sign saying "musicians". The original members of Lefty (before the band had a name) entered the Molson Canadian Rocks Concert Series contest and we needed a name to enter with. We were inspired by the poster and entered as Lefty (thinking we would only use it for the one show). We ended up winning the contest and gaining some attention so we kept the name and it has been with us ever since.
