Q: I love the way you infuse the various musical cultures in your work. What inspired your name? Feel free to check out my page at Riz & AliJay Music and give me your feedback. Love and Respect!

A: When I was a Kid they had a show called the Six Million Dollar Man played by Lee Majors. When I started initially on sound systems, The reference to the name as I grew in consciousness became more meaningful and ironically appropriate. My name is Lee I'm May Born & @ the time of my early teens coming up was surrounded by Rasta. So the word Jah was ever present and thus Lee MayJah was given life & relevance to me as an individual. I see people using Mayjah & even see a Lee Mayjahs? with the same question mark. I was using the name as early as 87 & performed on a lot of sounds with a lot of well known artists, as well as traveling quite a bit. So when I see these other people with the name or variation I can prove I was using it in 87 a time when many people prob, were too young and those old enough were calling their a$$ something else .. But I'm ready to drop legalities if and when the time comes ... Give thanks for the question.
