About
Late Night Hooligan Riff Raff
Relix Magazine calls LNHRR a "Band on the Verge"!
Touring with legend Merl Saunders, Drew Scott has played with musicians that have stood the test of time.
Scott has shared the stage with artists such as Merl Saunders, David Grisman, Melvin Seals, Jerry Garcia Band,
Roy Rogers, Norton Buffalo, Tower of Power and King Johnson to name a few.
After a show Scott played at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, Bonnie Raitt was backstage and
told him, “You’re a great songwriter.” Since then, Scott has put all his efforts into his original material. As
Chicago natives, LNHRR deliver music centered in big beat, rock and lyrics branded with late night jam sessions
and life on tour. Check out their site www.myspace.com/LNHRR
Relix Magazine article-
“Merl pulled me aside and said, "I like your original songs, there is a reason Dylan never did
covers,” tells Drew Scott (guitar, vocals). After over a decade spent sharing stages with greats
like the late Merl Saunders, Scott has written more songs than could fit a jukebox. Steering
clear of the acoustic guitar strumming singer songwriter stereotype, Scott has joined up with
Ben Thompson (drums) and Ryan Carney (bass), and formed the Late Night
Hooligan Riff Raff. The musicians hail from different musical niches. This blending of genres
creates a funkadelic rock ‘n’ roll explosion in their debut release, “Pull Yourself Together.”
The songs speak of living life to the fullest without the cheese, as Scott punches out lyrics over
a heavy bass. With a sound that combines Zappa, the Disco Biscuits, with hard 90’s rock Scott says, “Our shows get a
mix of the jam band crowd and blue collar guys with motorcycles. In the end they all leave sweaty
and smiley.” From Relix Magazine
