view from the precipice
it's not the hurt that does the damage
it's the hope that causes carnage
the black dog's waiting
at the end of the hall
if i could i would
kill the black dog for once and for all

i know this place
i know it's face
been here too many times
and it's disgrace
will leave no trace
in the space between the lines
resolve within
dissipates again
i'm holding on as best i can
did i become a burden
to past that is uncertain
and a future i don't understand?
