Saunders Street Records, Saunder Street Studios, Saunders Street Music are all visions of founder William Saunders. Of course, you’re thinking, “Where the heck is Saunders Street?” Funny you should ask. According to Bill, the ideas started on a roof top in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was shortly after the first gulf war had ended and he had some time to spend on roof tops playing guitar, writing songs, and dreaming on owning a record label.

Well, Saunders Street is a street on Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Some of his Military Police friends had managed to acquire one of the street signs the lined that road. That sign followed him wherever the Army sent him. So the idea was to capitalize on a fictitious road back in his adopted home town of Kansas CIty. In the midst of a fruitful career in IT and insurance, Bill decided the time had finally arrived to take Saunders Street from the drawing board to reality. Thanks to knowledge from independent music gurus such as Bob Baker and Ariel Hyatt, Bill created SSR in 2008.
