CD REVIEW: SNEW-SNEW YOU
MEMBERS: Curtis Don Vito-vocals, Andy Lux-guitars, Cat Tate-bass, Mark Ohrenberger-drums
LONG LIVE ROCK & ROLL, IN THIS EVER CHANGING DAY & AGE!!! These guys have the balls to do just that. Against all odds, these guys perservere!
Their debut Cd "Snew You" was just released & already it's drawing alot of attention from die hard rock fans.
As soon as you first listen, you hear a reminder of Rob Halford on a killer intro of vocals by Curtis himself. But Curtis does break into his own unique style of vocals thereafter. This Cd offers a variety of songs & music styles. We get a combination of hard hitting rockin' songs that they play best, w/a mixture of alittle blues & a ballad to even it all out.
My favourite picks from the Cd would be "She's A Real Gunslinger". This song has the typical AC/DC feel to it, as they say they draw some of their influences from. My other fave would be "Head Trauma". I'm a sucker for the blues/stripper style songs.
Overall, I'd say this is a very good Cd. It wouldn't disappoint. Well worth a listen & I'm happy to own it in my collection & thank you gentlemen for giving me this opportunity to listen & conduct this review for you.
Now, if only in the future they can produce another great Cd! Love to hear it!

CD REVIEW: DEADLY TIDE-SEXY SHOCK & SMOKE & MIRRORS
MEMBERS: J.D. Nitro-vocals, Easy-guitars, Skizza-guitars, W. Rumble-bass, Mr. Black-drums
I would say first off. Don't let looks deceive you. These guys may dress the part, but they can play some good melodic/alternative style music.
Sexy Shock delivers just that style itself. The overall music is strong. J.D.'s vocals remind me of the alternative styles of singing today. This is a good combination for those who enjoy that genre of music. It's a good blend.
My fave picks off Sexy Shock would be "Welcome To The Party" & "Come Back To Me". "Come Back To Me" in particular shows the use of guitar effects, which makes it stand out even more. Too bad it's the last song on the Cd!
Smoke & Mirrors is a compilation of Sexy Shock & new songs added. We get the usual melodic/alternative style mentioned in Sexy Shock w/ballads & faster paced songs mixed in this time round. An overall better sounding Cd that gives more variety to the listener.
My fave pick off Smoke & Mirrors would be "Mr. Black Limousine". It has a Motley Crue sound to it.
In conclusion, I'd say if you're into good melodic rock w/an alternative feel to it, give both Cd's a listen for yourself. I don't feel either one would disappoint. I'm happy to own both Cd's in my collection.

CD REVIEW: AMY SCHUGAR-UNDER CONSTRUCTION
MEMBERS: Amy Schugar-vocals/guitar, Michael Schenker-guitar, Mark Lehman-bass, Matt Indes-drums
SONGS: High Cost, I Need This Feeling, Surrender, Back Through The Window, I Need You, Love & Danger, All I Got, Victim Of The System
Amy rocks! Is all I can say. She is a strong vocalist and a hell of a kick ass guitarist. Too bad it's only an 8 song Cd. I would have liked to heard more of her playing abilities. Guitar solos are strong and catchy. She has the capabilities to be a much more heavier player, but settles for less of a melodic rock sound.
It was different to listen to. A heavier player w/a mellow band. Songs are well written. This Cd left me wanting more. Not only more songs, but more heaviness.
Overall I did enjoy the listen. If you prefer good, well written songs w/meaning, strong female fronted vocals, fired up guitar solos w/a nice melodic sound, then this Cd wouldn't disappoint. It's a good Cd just to pop in and let it play it's entirety.
My fave picks would be Back Through The Window, Love & Danger, All I Got.

Being compared to 3 other big name rock guitarists of Malmsteen, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, must tell you something of her playing abilities. Don't let me tell you. Find out for yourself. Also MP3 downloads available too.
