Founded in 1999, PopCore Promotions is the brainchild of music industry veteran and insider Rick Eberle. Rick has held jobs in almost every facet of the business, including gigs at:
 

1. Arista Records (as Director of New Media and founder of the Arista Army Street Team, he was one of the responsible agents in marketing for acts such as Usher, Pink, Outkast, Dido and Sarah McLachlan)
    
2. LongIsland.com (as Manager of Sales and Marketing for Nightlife and Restaurant sections of the site, he handled database sales & marketing and bookings for events such as the weekly Original Tuesdays at The Dublin Pub and concert events at Mulcahys and The Downtown, and handled website updates and viral marketing campaigns)
    
3. Long Island Press & WLIR Radio (involved with Sales and Marketing and as a consultant for special events, he worked on events and handled band and venue relations for some of the area’s top acts such as Nine Days and Stage and at top clubs such as at The Vanderbilt and The Downtown)
    
4. The Downtown Concert Venue (as Venue Manager, Talent Buyer and Director of Public Relations and Promotions, he booked legendary acts such as Men At Work, The Alarm, Modern English, Spin Doctors, Gin Blossoms and tens of others and was responsible for the day to day management, promotions and PR for the venue as a whole. Additionally, Rick hosted the most widely respected Tuesday Open Mic in Long Island’s history, which drew 400+ people on a regular basis while garnering feature stories in The New York Times, Newsday and Long Island Press. He also ran his PopCore Showcases and handled internet and web based viral marketing and site updates)
    
5. Sam Ash Music (as Manager of Pro Audio and Acoustic guitars and liaison for Sam Ash Band and Studio Sponsorships)
    
6. SoundSpectrum Music Visuals (as Manager of Sales and Marketing he has worked with companies like Microsoft & Apple to create visulaizers for their music players, with record labels such as Columbia, Warner and Capitol for video projects with David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, The White Stripes, Avril Lavigne & Fischerspooner and with touring acts such as Aerosmith, Seal & Journey in helping them solve their live concert visual needs)
    
7. The SL Agency/Moderne Promotions where we create second life avatars and marketing programs for labels and brands in the virtual world of second life as well as the real world with a two tiered program designed for maximum real/virtual world exposure.
    
8. dM Works where we assist with sales and promotion for their award winning full service design studio and post house for videos and web based initiatives.
    
9. Todd Shapiro Associates Public Relations (as Manager of Public Relations Clients, handling crisis management, viral online marketing, Email composition, strategy and deployment, Business development and nurturing of strategic partnerships and writing releases and placing clients from the corporate, music industry and tech sectors in print publications such as The New York Times, Daily News, New York Post and Newsday; on Television stations such as NBC, News 12, ABC and CW11; on Radio Stations such as Q104.3, WBAB, 1010WINS, WLIR and all local area college stations; in online portals such as YahooTech, BYTE, CNET, WIRED and MAXIM and in Music Portal, Second Life, SoNet and Web 2.0 promotion strategies)

ABOUT POPCORE PROMOTION:

Rick started his career in music at the tender age of 15 as songwriter, guitar player and vocalist for the legendary Long Island band Iridesense. He has also previously written and recorded with Playmakers, an electronic outfit comprised of Grammy nominated producer Matt Stein and Total Eclipse from The X-Ecutioners. Over the past 15 years, his musical endeavors have gained huge notoriety in the press, on television, on radio and through the internet without the help of a major label largely due to Rick’s prowess in the field of public relations, booking, band management, marketing and promotion.

While working hard at helping his band reach their goals, and laterally working in the music business on many levels, he had an epiphany: why not use the contacts and the network he has compiled to create a business capable of creating the same buzz for other bands and companies in need?
