ISAAC JAMES MUSIC, is a record label, created by the multi-instrumentalist Isaac James. IJM will feature the many projects and artists that are part of his musical world and backgroud. Isaac was born on the island of Moui, Hawaii, n 1982. At the time his mother and father met, his father Joe F.James was working with Marvin Gaye on the last Mowtown session, of "In our life time".  His father nick named "Fleece", worked with Marvin Gaye for 8 years before Isaac's mom, Rachel Kelly, and the infamous Joe James Parted way's.  

     In the mid 1980's Isaac and his mother Rachel moved to N California to live with family.  At the age of ten, Isaac began to study, drums, percussion, and traditional songs with many promanent Congolese musicians and legends; including,Samba Ngo, Batantu Dia Nkaba,Tito's Sompa, and Borrina Mapaka. Living in the Artist onclave of Nevada City, Isaac James, attended the nationaly acclaimed  Quaker high school, "John Woolman" and As a softmore, he began to study uprigt bass with Jazz Master  Paul Klempou and in 2004, world renowned , Bill Douglass. As a junior, in the year 2000 he won a scholership for creative writing, to  the internationally acclaimed, "California State Summer School of the Arts" held every year on the CAL ARTS campus in Southern C.A.

   In 2001 Isaac Toured the western U.S. with Kipchoge and the Ginger Ninjas, opening a whole new chapter in his world of music and in 2004 they toured Alaska with Bass guitar boss, Hayes Burris and Congolese legend Borrina Mapaka. Isaac went on to record and produce with Borrina Mapaka, and grow a musical parternsip for the next 7 years.  with Double Bass Master, Bill Douglass,  young James began diving into the sounds and modes of Jazz, music theory and musicology. Other Jazz  teachers and mentors that Isaac James has studied, toured, and worked with include, Guitar master, Steve Homan,  Grammy award winning Marry Young Blood !! Isaac is also a 10 year student of The world famous, grammy award winning percussionist, Daniel Moreno !! Alpha Yaya Diallo from Guinea, Conakry, and  world renowned  Scottish fiddler, Alasdair Fraser !  James is currently  26 years old. He lives and teaches in N.California, with his wife and son.
