About
Indie Band Hub
We are looking for committed working bands with quality original existing recordings in order build a local music community that will be marketed in the southeast.
What we can do for you is market your music (spend money) through web placement/marketing, traditional radio ads, live shows, and occasional print ads. Basically, we aggressively market and direct traffic to this site for your exposure. This makes us a visible retail/distributor that focuses on a small community rather than a large national outlet such as MySpace.
If you would like to be a part of this community, we only ask for 10% of any sales we directly generate. This is a "non-exclusive deal," which means you may still sell on iTunes accounts or other web sites--we only collect 10% from our community sites and we never own your master recordings at any point. This means we supplement other existing sites you already have set up (myspace-itunes, etc.).
What else can we do? For selected artists who express a need, we can offer additional freebies such as photos, video clips, and posters. These are available if wanted and needed—FREE-- you just need to let us know, but these are available on a limited basis and priority (availability, location, and timing of staff).
Only select bands will be approved as members. If you are interested in joining us, please submit our distribution agreement, along with your material (web site references i.e. myspace, etc.). We will notify you if you are accepted. You may cancel this agreement at any time for any reason.
Once you have signed on (returned our agreement), we will need a short bio, small initial photos, and your music you wish to upload. As an incentive—those artists that achieve a good amount of web sales, or views, may be approached to record additional music, or be included on our compilation CD this Fall-- at no charge to you as well—but this is "down the road."
Our vision is to create an opportunity for bands to communicate, share, and assist each other into each other’s markets as we grow. We are anxious to expose local bands in order to encourage a local music scene.
We are in the growing phase. If you know other bands that fit inot this mix please forward our address. A community is only as strong as it's members. We are focusing on the Southeast to start and will add other cities/regions as we move forward. So be sure to check out Indiebandhub.com.
PS: We are actively supported and funded by Belmont University’s Mike Curb College of Music Business and Entertainment—a nonprofit educational organization.
