Grass media, is a new kid in town! We're not big but we like to think we're quite smart. Debz and I have just started the business formally and have been astonished at the level of interest we've received in these early days and to be honest, we've not had time to work out why!
We think though that it might be because we take a very personal interest in the people we work with and we have adopted the daring business strategy of saying that we will only work with people we have met face-to-face and who's music and aspirations we can get genuinely excited and enthusiastic about! Time will tell if that's the right strategy but we believe in it passionately.
I'm not sure we fit into a mould but "publicists" is possibly the closest match and "pluggers" (hate that term) is another.. We start off by first of all understanding the goals and aspirations of our clients and then we work out and agree a jointly owned plan to help them achieve those goals. We then deliver a proposal as to what we're going to do, how we're going to do it and at what cost.
Again, we've broken the mould where costs are concerned and we quote a rate and the number of hours effort required. Our client can then be completely in control of what they're spending and the time over which they spend it. In some cases, where an extended campaign is required, we will ask for a retainer but I think you will find that we are very competitive and we define and agree very clear deliverables - so you're not throwing money into a black-hole!
