The days of making booking calls from the parking lot of his employers building are not that long ago. Assistant Underwriter by day and booking agent by night, this was the early introduction to the music industry for Grand Circus Media’s founder Joe Choma. Following a short stint as his college buddy’s band manager while attending Indiana University, and a summer studying for the Series 7 exam, Joe accepted a job providing bank funding through negotiable CD’s. Hardly sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll, Joe knew the days of moonlighting as a booking agent had to end. Since he was a child he had a knack for taking hold of a conversation, leading his kindergarten teacher to explain at parent teacher conferences, “I could leave the room and when I returned Joey would be up in front of the room
teaching the class.”

It was a leap of faith that Joe founded Maple Park Media, along with two hometown friends, in 2004. Riding a wave of momentum from their first client, Bump, the company’s client list grew to include two venues and a handful of prominent regional bands. Following two years with Maple Park Media, Joe founded his own music management company, Grand Circus Media, LLC.
