A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION CONNECTING PEOPLE TO MUSIC.

Among the things we do to make that happen are:

artist showcases/open mic’s

house concerts

music circles

barn dances

acoustic music festivals

various other booking/production activities

We are mostly musicians trying to make it easier for musicians to perform in situations where it’s all about the music, rather than finding a date, food or spectacle.

That means generally acoustic, singer-songwriter and traditional music.

ABOUT OUR RELATIONSHIP TO THE ARTISTS WE PROMOTE:

DesertSong Productions does not hire artists or manage them, but we do promote their work.  It’s the reason we exist: to bring people together with music.  We rather optimistically call this ’sponsoring’ an artist.  A DesertSong sponsored artist is one who DSP finds worthy of -and in need of- a boost.  We produce shows to give these artists performance opportunities.  We publicise their gigs, encourage them getting together with other artists, and keep them informed about performance opportunities beyond what DesertSong does.  We do NOT act as a booking agent for any artist, nor produce any artist's CD's (though we hope to do a sampler soon)   We will be happy to help you contact the booking agent or find a CD, etc. for any artist we sponsor, but  we are not the record producer or business manager for any artist.
