Bent Penny Records, based in Toronto, Ontario, sprung to life in January 2004. Dan Black and Julian Taylor of the long time Toronto rock band Staggered Crossing decided to form an independent record label along with long time friends Derek Alldritt and Mike Unwin. the goal, to create a new avenue for Canadian and International artists to 'get the music out'. With over twenty years of combined experience in the music industry touring, promoting, marketing, and performing across Canada, Black and Taylor decided it was time to take the next natural step. Together they are putting their expertise to work and are looking to make a positive contribution to the music industry by representing new up and coming, fresh and hip musical acts with good vibes, grit and soul.
