On 1st November 2009 Benbecula Records will close it’s doors indefinitely, 10 years to the day since it’s first CDR release in 1999. The label will continue to operate on a skeletal basis however no more releases will take place for the foreseeable future. Benbecula Records has been established as one of the most respected Scottish labels, specializing in electronica, down tempo, ambient and freestyle music. It’s cavalier attitude to music and it’s highly popular subscription service has made it unique, quirky and lauded by the press, radio and its peers.

It is with regret that due to a multitude of reasons, that the label will cease any new physical operations on the 1st of November 2009.  The website will remain open and back catalogue will remain available.



To celebrate its 10 year existence it is holding a special showcase at it’s old stomping ground, The Wee Red Bar in Edinburgh. With line-up including Christ., Araya and new signing Plum, very special guests to be confirmed plus live laptop and DJ disco into the wee hours. This is the final call and THE FINAL VINYL.
