Asheville Rock is an all day, all ages, all rock & roll event being held at Nashwa (next to Hookah Joe's, beneath Hairspray) on Saturday October 4th 2008. The event will showcase some of Asheville's best rock bands varying from punk, metal, garage, and indie. We will be barricading the parking lot in order to have an outdoor section to the festival where there will be the outdoor stage, several food vendors, Sponsor tables, some games, and maybe a clever way for fans to interact with the bands.

The indoor stage will be inside the new Nashwa venue which is opening in August and has a full featured sound system, DJ area, dance floor, and light system - not to mention a unique decor with a slightly Egyptian/Roman theme. We will also have at least one larger headlining act in order to define the event as something even bigger than the already stellar list of local acts.

Asheville Rock celebrates the past, present and future of the Asheville rock music scene. Our mission is to raise awareness and appreciation of the local rock music here in Asheville NC and surrounding communities, as well as provide a outlet for bands interact to express their art amongst their peers. The festival will also provide an affordable, all day, all ages entertainment alternative for the Asheville area.
