What is Adroit Records?

Adroit Records is an independent record company based in Nashville, TN. Adroit Records was established to present the music of  Nashville songwriters to a discerning and what we believe to be under served music audience. 

Adroit is developing a business model that will focus on serious music fans.  By taking advantage of current technology using internet networking capabilities Adroit  will rapidly spread the word that we are the source of very, very special music ad talent. 

What is different about Adroit Records?

Adroit Records was created to provide recording  opportunities for songwriters, who perform and develop their craft in the Nashville area. 

As a small independent label, Adroit is committed to producing a highly artistic product without commercial limitations imposed by broadcast radio. Adroit believes there is a significant audience base that appreciates artistic creativity at a very high level.   When their songs are produced  in a very organic fashion, Adroit showcases the songwriter and his or her music in a way that has been longed for.

Nashville is “Music City”! For years, serious and dedicated songwriters from around the world have come to Nashville to live and write. Nashville is a big part of music history. It is home to some of music industries’ largest labels and has numerous live performance venues. As a result, Nashville creates a natural draw for talented and serious songwriters. 

Songwriters are songwriters’ biggest fans and critics. In Nashville, they support each other in a way that exists no where else in the world. This enhances their creativity output. Adroit President, Jim Tract, says, “Nashville is a big city with a small town heart. It is a very special place.” This is why Adroit is pleased to be in Nashville.

The songwriters, who are signed with Adroit, are for the most part up and coming Artists, who have a dedicated and undeniable passion for songwriting. Plus, they are really good people, whose sense of character shines as bright as their talent and their ability to perform.

Part of Adroit's artistic vision is to provide opportunities for our writers to be able to work with established writers who not only share their seasoned talent in creating new songs, but also share their experiences and insights concerning the music business. In turn, the established artists enjoy the fresh and  vibrant  energy of the younger up and comers.  We also take the same tact in the studio, where we use world famous and renowned musicians, and also integrate young and or unknown talent, which we believe creates a new and fresh perspective for all involved. And that translates to elevated energy in the studio.

Honest music is the style of Adroit Records. The best way to describe the song genre for the label is Americana deeply rooted in Country, tinged with both Soul and Blues.

Jim Tract, President of Adroit Records, is the creative force behind the record label. His lifetime of musical experience and recording knowledge skills suits him well in judging musical talent. Jim can be found on any night at live venues though out Nashville. He attentively listens to Artists and watches audience reactions to the songs. What is Adroit Records position on illegal file sharing?

The music industry is a very complex business where copyrighted material and digitally produced products can be stolen with little or no effort or consequence. Adroit Records would simply state that taking an artists work without compensating that artist is stealing. 

And by the way, if you knew our Artists like we do, as real people, with real lives, who you'd feel perfectly comfortable inviting over to the house for dinner, you would not want to steal from them. And by the way, Adroit Records promises that we will never steal from you either. Promise!
