It started way back in 2003, when there was an offer to go and play for “Folklore Festival” in Germany. Which later on decided to take the chance and so we went. Afterwards after we got back home, what was supposed to be incidental became a habit. Then a habit became a passion and finally became music with passion. We used traditional instruments to foreign traditional instruments blend it all with the modern instruments and somehow we make the music out of it. Combining traditional instruments with the music of today, we create something that even more interesting, so that people can enjoy, and at the same time feel the aroma of natural ethnic sound that come out from the Indonesian percussion. Then came the name KunoKini which we thought represents our music and our philosophy. The name itself stands solid which literately Kuno means traditional and Kini means now. With our vision and hope is to bring to surface a one of kind music, introduce traditional instruments into a music, that traditional instruments can also be used to make modern music, to remind people what they have forgot which is ethnical music, to give a performance that would stun and always be remembered.
