About
Kristan Preble began her singing career at the ripe old age of five at a Hee Haw themed family reunion. Since then, there has been no looking back for this beautiful, smooth and soulfully voiced, Florida born, Brandon, Mississippi-raised singer/songwriter.
A naturally gifted lyricist and self taught acoustic guitar player, her songs ebb and flow with the lyrical meanderings and melodic stylings of a young Bonnie Raitt with a sprinkle of Shania Twain and a cup of Patty Loveless, some of Kristan's biggest musical influences, thrown in for good measure.
Still an avid athlete with tennis as her favorite sport, Kristan, honed her burgeoning musical skills in church as a youngster. She continued her passion for music throughout grade-school and into her high-school years by singing at numerous high-school events. Including the national anthem before her high-school's sporting events, often singing the anthem before her own team's softball games then running out to play center field before the first pitch was thrown. While simultaneously writing her own material and performing at some of the most popular bars and clubs throughout Mississippi during her high-school years, Kristan penned the Mississippi Northwest Rankin High-School fight song which is still used today before every sporting event.
Shortly after high-school, while recording demo's in Hendersonville, Tennessee, Kristan was discovered by her then manager Joe Carter. In 2005, as a sophomore in college, Kristan was signed to a Demo Deal by RCA Records. She spent that year working to record her demo and co-writing with some of Nashville's top songwriters. She is also an active and participating member of NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association, Inc), and BMI Music Licensing Group. She graduated in 2007 from Middle Tennessee State University with a BS degree in Recording Industry--emphasis on Music Business, along with a minor in Business Administration.
