NOTORIOUS PARTY DUO JOHNNY RICTHER AND D-LOC GET INTROSPECTIVE AND DEEPLY PERSONAL WITH P.T.B.

DUO EXAMINES ISSUES FACING TODAY'S SUBURBAN CULTURE

After riding a wave of success with counterculture icons The Kottonmouth Kings that included hitting #39 on the Billboard Top 200, headlining this year's Cannabis Cup, and gracing the cover of High Times magazine, the dynamic duo of D-Loc and Johnny Richter have returned to wreak havoc once again on April 24th, 2007 with P.T.B., the long-awaited sophomore effort from the pair's side-project Kingspade.

"P.T.B. stands for P-Town Ballers, which is the name of our basketball squad from high school and college. We just transferred that over when we started rapping to the name of our crew," says D-Loc. "We used it long before the term ballin' was used as a money term. It was more about basketball and having fun for us. That was our original click we had when we first started rapping and we don't forget where we come from."

For the last twelve years D-Loc and Johnny Richter have fronted underground sensations The Kottonmouth Kings. During their decade-plus tenure with the Kings, the duo have become an underground music institution soundscanning over 1,000,000 albums and selling 1,000,000 concert tickets from over 1,500 live performances. Their accomplishments are even more impressive given the fact that they have remained completely independent from the mainstream and without the aid of a major label.

People have put all kinds of labels on Kottonmouth Kings because we mix punk rock, hip-hop and the political causes we support, but Kingspade is just two kids from Orange County getting back to our roots, says Johnny Richter about his side project with D-Loc. "With Kingspade there are no rules so we can just go in and write about whatever we're feeling."

This fearless approach to creating music has allowed Richter and D-Loc to expand their musical horizons with Kingspade's sophomore effort P.T.B. While the duo's self-titled debut album Kingspade was fueled by club-banging beats and party anthems like Drunk in the Club, P.T.B. runs the gamut of emotions and tackles a variety of subjects currently facing today's suburban culture. "Brotha Brotha" tackles drunk driving, "Inked Up" explores perceptions of people with tattoos, "Follow The Leader" lashes out at the Bush administration's war on terror, while the inspirational "Dreams" lets fans know they can be whatever they aspire to be.

One of the album's standout tracks is Looking Up featuring Big B, star of the hit A&E TV series INKED. The song examines the hardships of running a life of crime verses living a straight life and working just to put food on the table.

"As a kid I grew up hustling, but if you keep up with that lifestyle you're only going to be dead or in jail. It's hard to give up the hustle and lead a straight life, especially if that life is all you know. says Johnny Richter. You go from hustling where you always have money and suddenly you've got to play it straight-laced, working 12 hour days just to put food on the table for your family. Having nothing sucks, and looking up at everyone else that has more than you while you're working twice as hard sucks. I think you just got to make a decision to want to make things better for yourself, but at the same time do it in a legitimate way, because if you end up dead or in jail, you're no help to anyone."

After achieving the success that most musicians only dream of, D-Loc and Johnny Richter have recorded on one of the best albums of their career with P.T.B. With Kingspade already set to hit the road supporting Kottonmouth Kings for a month long tour in April, this dynamic duo is ready to take things to the next level.

"I think this record will surprise a lot of people, says D-Loc. There's a lot more personal stuff on this record that people can relate to, but it also has really great beats and songs. We're really stoked about this record and we're just gonna put it in people's faces."
