Kimon & the Prophets
New York City, NY
Blues / Funk / Rock
Bio
While constantly performing live every chance they get, the PROPHETS have recently painstakingly completed their new album (Title to be determined) which will be going for a run at Blues / Americana radio and press in late 2010. With these new recordings, the band continues to develop their own melodic blend of blues, funk, 70’s rock, and hip-hop; a musical homecoming back to their roots.
The Prophets 2009 album “Roadhouse Party” garnered international reviews (see http://www.kimon.tv/pages...

“It immediately begins with the rousing title cut, a great Blues-Rock song with cool guitar playing, pulsating bass and a Rock percussion sound. This is also the first video to see on the DVD.
The breathtaking pace is then preserved in the grooving "Far off Places"; here the 3 great musicians play rock music reminiscent of the 70’s to the 80’s.
Highlights are the pure Funk of “Supply and Demand “ with breathtaking solos by Kimon, a great cover of David Bowie’s "Heroes" that sounds like Rock, and “Blind Leading The Blind”. Gambino wrote the lyrics to "Captured", which musically is dominated by the bass and drums to create passionate Blues-Rock. From the acoustic DVD songs, I like “Time To Move On” best of all.
The three members of the group have grown up in the NYC club scene, acquired rich experience in their journey and now they reach to the stars. The album is musical and interpreted through first-class playing.
Hearing it all is a pure pay-off. ”
