The blood that courses through Kevin Cheung’s veins is electronic, and the beats that glide from his fingertips are contagiously hypnotic. This Hong Kong born Chinese Canadian was born from an artistic family unit and from an early age began a journey that would ultimately take him from the United Kingdom to the mosaic of Toronto, Ontario.

At the age of 18 at the genesis of that journey, one visit to a Hong Kong afterhours club with Dave Seaman ferociously attacking the decks reinvigorated Kevin’s unbridled passion for music. That experience and subsequent aftermath allowed him exposure to such diverse acts such as world renowned Carl Cox, Hybrid, and Sven Vath; all of which had a hand in molding Kevin into the artist that spins before you today. Such influence were instrumental in supporting his perpetual drive and perseverance

In 2002, while in the United Kingdom Kevin leveled up that passion and completed courses in Advanced DJ skills and music production. That knowledge and introduction solidified Kevin’s desire to be successful as a DJ Producer, and he launched his debut behind the decks on the shores of Hong Kong. This eclectic beginning has allowed Kevin to be able to flawlessly fuse numerous genres of music into an art form that he has clearly adopted as his own.

Fast forward to the spring of 2007 and revel in the re-emergence of Kevin Cheung. After his self imposed hiatus, he enrolled at OIART and was introduced to a group of likeminded DJ Producers. Through these relationships he began successfully promoting parties and producing beats in Toronto and the surrounding area.

After graduating from OIART’s Audio Engineering program in July of 2008 Kevin funneled the knowledge attained into fuel for his art, promising to expose the masses to a personal electronic revolution. With numerous residences stretching throughout the Greater Toronto Area, Kevin’s message continues to expand at a rabid pace. Other communities that have been inundated with his tsunami of beats, breaks, and builds are London, Windsor, St. Catharines, Kitchener and Winnipeg and that list continues to grow with each sunset.

With hotly anticipated releases slated for early 2009 on several labels, Kevin will solidify his place amongst the freshest and hottest up and coming DJ Producers in Canada. Alongside this, he continues to work tirelessly to expose his vision to the masses by electrifying some of the most progressive venues this country has to offer.

The next generation of electronic euphoria has a name, and that name is Kevin Cheung.
