Kaura was born from the vision of infusing the aggressive power of hard, yet melodic rock with the haunting and ethereal sounds of ancient instruments. In the short time since the Berkeley/LA-based band formed in 2005, they have racked up an impressive list of accomplishments. Bill Graham Presents invited them to open for bands such as TOOL at SF Area shows, and A Perfect Circle’s Paz Lenchantin guested on their self-released EP. Central to the bands vision and sound have been travels to countries such as India, Thailand, and Bali where they sought out instruments and experience. They are currently mixing their first full-length album, which has included sessions with Tool, Prince, and Johnny Cash Producer/Engineer Sylvia Massy.
