More About The Artist
Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden hail from the Northwest corner of Seattle Washington amidst the fisherman and sailors of Ballard. They play lush indie pop with shimmering melodies, sparkling soundscapes, and beats like a train on a track.
The group formed in the fall of 2006 to work on songs that Kate had written for a new record. Their self-titled debut was recorded and produced by Ryan Hadlock (Blonde Redhead, Metric, The Gossip), at Bear Creek Studio in February 2007. It features Nic Danielson of the Kindness Kind and Seattle folk luminary Damien Jurado.
The record was released October 30, 2007 to significant critical acclaim. Itunes featured it on their Indie page and Starbucks stores nationwide continue to play it daily.
The band will embark on national tour this spring with a stop at SxSw. New songs are in the works for the follow-up album they plan to record later this summer.
