It lapsed the month of January of the year 2000 when it had just taken form the idea that El Herrumblar (Cuenca) had its own rock band. Was born KARIH-KATURA this way, a group formed by different youths of that town of Oriental Manchuela with more desires than musical knowledge. In a principle each one was contributing their instrument and their intentions since, in fact, the gestation was quite spontaneous. In the drums position he/she had two girls, Bea and Ana that a simple Deep bought fifty-fifty. As guitarists they were Antonio "Warilly" Núñez and Francisco the teacher's" guacho. In the bass, Toni "Almorchón" that never ended up playing. To the voice Emilio Ponce, although it was even thought of singing to two voices with Jesus' incorporation that neither ended up singing. This whole composition one came to the fret with the first test. Lapsed in the kitchenette of Bea, it supposed the birth of the first song of the group, As consultant, and Miguel's Ángel momentous incorporation, Emilio's brother that grabbed the bass and for pure instinct he/she went giving it already goes to the rhythmic base of that mythical first song. With this start, little by little, the formation left making definitive and the first ones were made you discard. Francisco abandoned the guitar, Toni "Almorchón he lent us the bass, but he didn't never play it. We also get a definitive, wide local and adapting, the bar of the old cinema of the town. And at the little time he/she came closer to snoop Polo over there and he asked if he could go to the local to play the bass. We didn't put him impediments and little by little he fused to the group being more one. This way, KARIH-KATURA is planted by the middle of the 2000 with two drumers (Bea and Ana) two bassoonists (Miguel Ángel and Santi) a guitarist (Warilly) and a vocalist (Emilio). And the popular clamor of a small town of Cuenca in the face of a novelty pushes this way them to make its first performance with so single 4 songs. For they are happened it the brilliant idea of organizing their own festival, the one RASPS ROCK that is able to bring to the town to different bands of the district and until to some Argentinean residents in Valencia. And there that they rushed, with three own songs and a version rockera of José Luis Perales that made the delights of small and grades. The public treated them with benevolence and courtesy (laughs). It was the first step of KARIH-KATURA, their fire baptism, and they opened up for before a long road that to travel for the paths of the rock n roll.' Who did say that that was easy?
Soon they decided that it would be better to have two guitarists instead of two bassoonists, so Miguel Ángel takes that responsibility and he abandons bassoonist's career to be made a devote of the six strings. Therefore a classic formation is gotten with drums, bass, two guitars and vocalist. Already toward the rock n'roll, the group is devoted to the composition of own songs and the interpretation of versions to conform a repertoire. Little by little they leave getting fruits in the test local and they goes consolidating the project. During the summers of 2001 and 2002 the band takes place the one again it RASPS ROCK, with success, revel and spread ethylic. There are not hurries, it is a hobbie. In 2003 Bea abandons the group and KARIH-KATURA it is definitively compound for their current (Ana, Miguel, Emilio, Polo and Antonio "Warilly" Núñez) formation. And it is then when the due problems arise to changes of local, long periods of inactivity, etc. But everything is overcome and, as the weed never dies, the group comes out ahead. In 2004 they accept to settle in the local that gives them a new group that has been formed in the town, Guachuzos, and a stage of collaboration begins among both formations. In her it is possible to acquire considerable sound material to be able to play in direct and to record the first home recordings. It is also gotten a creative happy time with the composition of new songs and the group recovers the march and the work rhythm.
The marriage between KARIH-KATURA and Guachuzos breaks at the end of 2005 and during the first half of 2006 soon after the approach differences when approaching projects in common. The paradigmatic case is the beneficent festival SONES FOR THE SOLIDARITY, taken place in April of 2006, and that it is an entire organizational challenge for KARIH-KATURA. With the collaboration of The whole Herrumblar the festival is public's success and of critic and they are possible to save the furniture, also getting that the district of Manchuela remembers its commitment of collaboration with the most depressed areas in Guatemala that it stops that was carried out the event.
Nothing else concluded the festival, KARIH KATURA starts to record the twelve songs that they will compose its first album, a project totally autoproduced and that they hope to see the light at the end of 2006. Meanwhile they approach also the one it RASPS ROCK 2006 (another success) and the change to a new local. Let us hope the promise is completed and the first record of KARIH-KATURA is born
And the boy has been born and he calls himself Mientras nos sobre corazón, a completely independent project, with all the errors that it can bear that risk, but with all the freshness that you/they contribute the instinctive, not very rational, barely prepared acts. KARIH-KATURA, in their autoproduction line that has taken them to have their own sound system, their own festival to give charts to incipient groups and their solidary festival, it has approached the recording of their first record without waiting to register for a company and without thinking to be discovered by a producing of fame. It has been the firmness and the desires of making the things for themselves what has taken them to record, to mix,and mastering and to pay the expenses of edition of their own material, without sound engineers, without producers, without recording studio. In definitive, without net, as the trapeze artists. And it has left what has left, an IMPERFECT album, but full with illusions, an album that, technically, it will contain atrocities, but that it looks directly to the eyes of which listens to it, an album in the one that alone there is heart and they have more than enough the artifices. KARIH-KATURA is also interested, we make this for bad habit, because we like it, without waiting anything to change, although we promise to continue improving.
