AM JUST LAYING THE GROUNDWORK AT THE MOMENT, SO THESE ARE JUST IDEAS AND CONCEPTS; TO HAVE ANY CHANCE OF GETTING OFF THE GROUND, MORE COMMITTED SOULS ARE REQUIRED. I'M NOT BAD AT COMING UP WITH IDEAS, BUT I AM NOT BUSINESS MINDED AT ALL, AND MY ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS ARE PRETTY POOR, SO PEOPLE THAT DO HAVE THESE SKILLS, ALONG WITH THE PASSION AND DRIVE TO EXECUTE THEM, ARE REQUIRED. THE DESCRIPTION BELOW ONLY SCRATCHES THE SURFACE OF WHAT I HAVE IN MIND; I THINK IT BEST, AT THIS STAGE, TO WITHHOLD MUCH OF THE DETAIL, FOR OBVIOUS REASONS.

AS WELL AS BEING A BAND SITE, THIS PAGE IS MORE SPECIFICALLY INTENDED AS A VEHICLE FOR OTHER ARTISTS WHO HAVE GROWN WEARY OF THE WHOLE CELEBRITY THING, AND REALISE THAT THE PUBLIC'S OBSESSION WITH CELEBRITIES PREVENTS NEW TALENT COMING THROUGH. THIS PAGE, AND THE CORRESPONDING GROUP AND PAGES, I'VE SET UP OVER ON MYSPACE (THE GROUP ALSO CALLED MAKE CELEBRITIES HISTORY HAS OVER 2100 MEMBERS, SO FAR) ACTUALLY HAS NUMEROUS CONCRETE GOALS: ONE OF WHICH IS ORGANIZING MAKE CELEBRITIES HISTORY TOURS, EACH MADE UP OF A DOZEN BANDS, AND APPEARING AT ALL NIGHT EVENTS (RUNNING FROM 8PM TO 8AM THE NEXT MORNING; BEING HELD AT DIFFERENT VENUES AROUND THE COUNTRY).

THESE TOURS CULMINATING IN A MAKE CELEBRITIES HISTORY FESTIVAL. ANOTHER GOAL IS TO SET UP AN INDEPENDENT LABEL THAT IS TRULY INDEPENDENT; ONE THAT PLACES EMPHASIS ON DISCOVERING INNOVATIVE ARTISTS, REGARDLESS OF HOW MARKETABLE THEY MIGHT BE. ANOTHER IS A RADIO STATION DEVOTED EXCLUSIVELY TO EXPOSING UNTAPPED TALENT. THE MONEY MADE FROM THE TOURS AND FESTIVAL WOULD BE USED TO SET UP THE LABEL AND RADIO STATION, HOPEFULLY, RE-IGNITING THE IDEOLOGY INITIATED AT THE HACIENDA, MANCHESTER (SETTING UP A VENUE EQUIVALENT TO THE HACIENDA WOULD BE GREAT TOO). THERE ARE NUMEROUS OTHER GOALS THAT WILL BE REVEALED IF AND WHEN THIS PROJECT KICKS OFF, BUT THE CAMPAIGN, IN THE MEANTIME, NEEDS A VOICE, WHICH IS WHERE THE NUMBERS COME IN.

ONLY BY GATHERING MANY DISILLUSIONED ARTISTS TO THE ONE PLACE, NAMELY THE MAKE CELEBRITIES HISTORY GROUP, CAN SUCH A CAUSE HAVE A VOICE THAT WILL BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. THE WORLD'S AND THE MEDIA'S ATTENTION IS GRABBED BY NUMBERS; CHANGE ALWAYS BEGINS IN THE WILDERNESS, A FEW SMALL VOICES, AND IT IS NOT UNTIL THOSE VOICES GROW IN NUMBER THAT THE WORLD BECOMES AWARE OF THE NEW IDEOLOGY. I NEED YOUR HELP TO BRING ABOUT THAT GROWTH.

AT THE MOMENT MEMBERSHIP OF THE MAKE CELEBRITIES HISTORY GROUP IS OVER 2000; THE TARGET IS 100,000+. IF EVERYONE JOINED THE GROUP AND THEN INVITED ALL OF THEIR FRIENDS TO JOIN THE TARGET COULD BE REACHED WITHIN SIX MONTHS, THEN THE GOALS LISTED ABOVE WOULD BECOME A REALITY RATHER THAN JUST A DREAM.

CLARIFICATION REGARDING THE PURPOSE OF THIS SITE, THE PANGAEA'S PEOPLE SITE, AND THE MAKE CELEBRITIES HISTORY GROUP:

When we speak of making celebrities history, we refer to the abundance of Bakelite celebrities out there. The media is over-run with so-called celebrities, and the term is so freely used now, that the only meaning it has left is a derogatory one. In the current climate, any true artist tarred with the celebrity brush should consider himself well-and-truly insulted.

Making celebrities history doesn't mean artists shouldn't be celebrated for their work; a distinction exists between the two groups, with the one group suffocating the other. Upsetting the status quo is a massive undertaking; it needs the support of a massive number of artists and art lovers. It will take time, but we hope to eventually get the membership of MAKE CELEBRITIES HISTORY above 100,000; only then will it have a voice.

Our music and animation takes up most of our time, leaving us well short of the time needed to get these projects off to a flyer. It's a case of fitting them in when we can, which is a real shame, as we believe with a vengeance in the ideology underlying this project.

We send out as many invitations as we can to the MAKE CELEBRITIES HISTORY group, but until other people who believe in the ideology start sending out invitations to all the people on their friend's list, things will move a long too slowly to put any goals into action.
