Born in Los Angeles, Jim Walker (lead singer / songwriter of JVA) has written music for film (Universal Picture’s “Three O'Clock High” "Redline") and television (HBO's "Tales From the Crypt"), been the singing voice of a Ninja Turtle, done voice-overs for Disney, and has even sung a few beer commercials.
After completing two JVA videos, a brief signing with RCA records and an even briefer signing with Geffen Records, Jim decided that he needed a change of scenery.
He moved to Portland, Oregon where he was introduced to uber-guitarist Tim Ellis. The two began performing together as JVA in 1996.
