Justin Ashworth is a muffled sigh of joy in the shape of a boy. He spends most of his time mixing cocktails, playing with his kitten Sashimi, and turning everyday sounds into music. Justin has released 2 independant cds and a book of poetry, composed for several short films, dance works and visual art installations, toured nationally and internationally.

Justin Ashworth is a muffled sigh of joy in the shape of a boy. He spends most of his time mixing cocktails, playing with his kitten Sashimi, and turning everyday sounds into music. Justin has released 2 independant cds and a book of poetry, composed for several short films, dance works and visual art installations, toured nationally and internationally.
Justin plays guitar, sings, plays keyboards, bass, theremin, percussion. His music combines electronic textures/effects with live instruments including live and electronic drums, cello, piano, and a stunning live visual show.
Performances range from full band ambient rock/surrealist pop shows, to solo ambient lullaby sets/ with a new Absinthe music cabaret in the works.
Justin's new recording/live project titled "if you go far enough into the sky, you'll come out underwater..." Is an Industrial rock meets electro meets ambient surrealist pop. Think bjork, with a bottle of absinthe, in a living room at the bottom of a lake, re scoring Twin Peaks with Trent Reznor.
If you go... is due in early 2010 With cover art by genius Nathan "Scary Girl" Jurevicius.
2009 Solo ambient music/poetry tour of North America- Ottawa/Montreal/New York
*Producing new ambient cd "Absinthe Music" (release TBA) (limited edition).
*[re]interpreted [ASOF] - Remixes of Songs from Melbourne band A State Of Flux's debut EP. Featuring Justin's new take on their song Parallelism.

Justin Ashworth's released "new music to fall asleep to..." An audio/visual, electro-acoustic live music exploration of the surreallist dream state of mind, and the potential for lullabies to invoke more than just sleep, but influence your dreams... and possibly control them... Combining ambient soundscapes, odd rhythms, and a poetic imagination to create emotionally provoking sound environments, and surrealistic songs.
2005
Justin self published his first book of poetry and cd of spoken word called "fleeting poetry". Dreamy wet guitars roll against thick synths, poems about love and life and death, coffee, the laundromat and Tony Levin. Music on the cd performed by mousetrapreplica's Ryan McRobb (guitars/electronics) and re-sound's Matthew Bush (synths/electric kazoo/shortwave radio)
As a guest musician, Justin has been Involved in aclaimed Fringe Festival shows: "Seamstress" (2008), a contemporary dance collaboration with choreographers/performers Susan van den Ham and Jessica Devereux. "Kunst Ist Scheisse" (2006), a cabaret show by The Caravan of love. "Extreme Spoken Word" (2005), with performers Esteban David Dos Santos and Joey "Crazy Elf" Kurtsenko Conan the Bubbleman's "Ephemera" (2003).
Released 2 cds .. Records with Melbourne contemporary music ensemble "re-sound" (In C, Hard Chamber) playing electric bass.
He has performed original music at countless Melbourne venues and festivals including Nextwave, Wangaratta Jazz Festival,
Scored for several short films/animations and collaborated on several contemporary dance pieces and visual art installations.
