About
Andre Mason a.k.a Juss Dre
Born and raised in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York, early on Andre Mason came to have a natural understanding of music. Raised by God fearing parents Andre attended church regularly and got saved in October of 1996. Encouraged by his mother to pursue and cultivate what seemed to be a developing inclination for creating melodies, he was given his first drum set and placed into drum core while he was a pre teen. While in drum core he was the youngest and one of the most talented snare players on the drum line for the cadets of First Baptist Drum Core (who later became the Cadets of Brooklyn) before he was physically able to carry the drum for long periods of time. Accepted into the vocal program at Edward R. Murrow, a high school for individuals gifted in the arts, he was given the opportunity to further develop the God given gifts that he received. Unfortunately, soon after being accepted the program and embarking on that journey, the pull of the world began to steer him in a different direction resulting in his withdrawal from the vocal program. After graduating from High School a semester early Andre soon was accepted into Hampton University where the pull of the world soon had him in a treacherous world wind and on the pathway to death. In 2004, Andre rededicated his life to Christ and with that rebirth came a new passion to continue cultivating the gifts that he had once buried for the up building of God’s kingdom. Since that time Andre has been spreading the word through song with his production, rapping and singing.
$ In 2007 Andre released his first single Wake Up into regular rotation under the alias of Smart Money on 88.1 WHOV.
$ Later in that year Andre built his own website and ringtone website where individuals could down load his ring tones at no cost.
$ He has ministered at the Breast Cancer Walk in Durham, North Carolina.
$ The Breast Cancer Walk in Tappahannock Virginia.
$ Several churches in North Carolina and Virginia.
$ Andre has performed on a local T.V. Show in Durham North Carolina
$ The most notable opportunity Andre was given to minister was at the 100 Men in Black concert in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. At that concert, Andre was given the opportunity to minister before a crowd of nine hundred plus with the likes of interface recording artist Micah Stampley and the One Hundred Men in Black men’s Chorus.
After his performance at the 100 Men In Black Concert in Chapel Hill, Andre felt it necessary to take a hiatus from composing, writing, singing, and performing to “reevaluate” his ministry. Unsure of who’s will he was trying to fulfill, his or the Lords, Andre took a much needed timeout to seek the Lord’s face. Having done that, he recognized that though his heart was to please the Lord with his music, he was mixing his personal business aspirations with the Lord’s will, but now, he is back equipped with a better understanding of the Lord’s will for his life, a desire to see only the Lord’s will to be done, a new found spiritual maturity and an intensified love for God. With new music, a new name and a new appreciation for the discipline of Christ, Andre Mason a.k.a Juss Dre is sure to be a name to look out for.
