Junkyard Academy / Press

“The Faculty and Staff of Junkyard Academy will be heading into the studio in March! Somehow, we knew that good things were on the way in 2013. We’ll be recording at Ex’pression College for Digital Arts in early March, then we’ll be performing on a live streaming webcast on Thursday, March 28th! Suffice it to say, we will be EXTREMELY busy over the next few weeks, preparing for this amazing opportunity. Keep and eye out for the details on where to tune in for the live webcast. ”

"These guys are doing a fantastic job of sounding good and having a ton of fun at the same time!" KC Turner blogged about the July 3rd Open Mic he hosts at the Red Devil Lounge in San Francisco and we got a nice mention. You can read the whole blog entry below. At the end of that entry he mentions that I blogged about my experience at the Red Devil, that night, and you can read about it here: https://www.facebook.com/notes/junkyard-academy-official/jya-played-the-red-devil-lounge-open-mic/408466209188681 Sing, Dance, Live... “This is actually older news, but I had to share that the band got mentioned in a movie review of 'Insidious'. Have a look; "fyi: The town of Benicia, CA, actually has its own paranormal ( "ghostbuster" ) investigator, Lewis Nowosad of Gryphon Paranormal. He does it as a hobby. And he also happens to be a musician in a band, Junkyard Academy, with some stuff available for viewing on YouTube. Check him/it out." I had to comment on his blog; "...so there I was, sipping my coffee, looking at my ReverbNation status email and I see this button with a caption which reads; "See what people are saying about you on the web." I click it and discovered this blog. After narrowly averting a spit take with my coffee, I call my wife into the room and show her that not only did I get mentioned in a blog, but Gryphon *and* Junkyard Academy were mentioned in it!" So tripppy... -Lewis =8^)-”

“Hey Kids! We've reached 482 fans, here! Help us get to 500 and tell your friends! Things are looking up for us in 2012 so far because in the first half of February we played three shows! Two in one week at the same location and the third was just us auditioning for the seventh season of America's Got Talent. No need to worry about us getting discovered on television as we didn't get a call back for when the celebrity judges come to town. It was a fun day, nonetheless and I got a taste of what the behind the scenes are like in person. ...lots of shouting at people to move from point 'a' to point 'b'. Bottom line, we're still here and we want to THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support, you fans are the BEST!!”
