YEAR BY YEAR HISTORY OF GEORGE DOBBS A.K.A. "JUICEBOX GEORGE"

1995 - Jumps in as frontman for the Clifton, NJ-based hard prog-rock band, 3rDegree (
www.3rdegreeonline.com) --not to be mistaken for the band of the same name hailing from Virginia, nor the rapper).

1996 - With 3rdegree, releases "Human Interest Story" to an indifferent public. It will be 12 years before they release another album together.

1997 Hones his keyboard skills during a 1 year stint with Aussie rock/pop sensation Mark Lizotte (www.marklizotte.com).

1999 Begins a 1 1/2 year stint with Americana-tinged Joe Whyte (garageband.com/artist/joewhyte)

2000 - Begins an association with REM Studio's (not related to the band REM) Robert Melosh that lasts almost 3 years. (www.remstudios.com and cdbaby.com/cd/robertmelosh)

2001 - By year's end, Dobbs 1.4X is conceived and compiled.

2002 - Plays with Grateful Dead tribute band, Avalon Ballroom in it's waning years until just before it morphs into the blues-rock band Papa Hoodu in 2005. Also joins the Santana tribute act "Lou Nardi's Evil Ways" which tries to dig it's heels into the festival circuit for the next 3 years.

2004 - George's 13-year collaboration with Singer/Songwriter Declan Power (garageband.com/artist/DPower) gives fruition to "New Born Pods" (a.k.a. Newborn Pods -- www.newbornpods.com). They record at the Loft Studio in
Bronxville, NY (www.loftstudio.com), under the engineering/producing helm of Crawford Brown.

2005 - George
begins his longtime association with the jam-band JP Jammin' (ulteriormotiveband.tripod.com), whose leader, John Policano, will one day be responsible for dubbing our intrepid songwriter with his current moniker after throwing a thirsty George one of his son's berry-flavored juice-boxes and saying "here 'ya go, Juicebox George."

2006 - New Born Pods compile their first album, "Here Comes Mephisto."
George lends his keyboard talents to recordings by singer/songwriter Sarah Banner.(www.Sarahbanner.com).

2007 - Reunites with 3rdegree for two concerts, which are recorded and filmed.  A subsequent album of new and previously unfinished songs is planned.

2008 - In June, 3rdegree releases first album in 12 years: Narrow-Caster. New Born Pods on hiatus, although various members are playing live together in cover bands. In December, an official eco-wallet version of Narrow-Caster is released and generally receives extremely positive reviewsMeanwhile, George finished the upgrades to his first solo album “Version 1.42” (originally finished 2002 as “Version 1.41”) and puts the final touches on his follow-up “Unreliable Narrator.”

SONGS & COLLECTIONS OF GEORGE DOBBS:

COLLECTION #1: "DOBBS 1.4X"
1 -Gotta Be So Complicated: There are 2 other versions of this; one with the middle breakdown adumbrated, and another, very different version recorded with NewBorn Pods. The title was changed from "Complicated," to maybe avoid confusion with the fine
Avril Lavigne song.
2 - Never Gonna Put You Down
3 - Love, You Let Go
4 - Waking Up
5 - You Lose Me
6 - Yes, You Do Love Him: Written in the 90's - recorded late 2007
7 - If you Have to Please
8 - Why Don't You Try
9 - Let the Punishment Fit the Crime:  Written in the 90's - recorded early 2008
10 - Window to Your Soul: the oldest song of the set.  Re-recorded at least 4x over the decades.
11 - Only If You're Good to Me

This collection first congealed circa 2002 in effort to finally have at least one consistent song-cycle/presentation in a songwriting "career" that always indulged far-flung enthusiasms and multiple collaborations.  This lack of focus always made it difficult to accomplish the seemingly simple task of completing anything resembling an "album."  For Monsieur Dobbs was always developing a rock song here, a "jazz song," there, songs with an art rock flavor, and pop ballads, and then he'd join a band and his sound didn't fit into theirs, so he'd have to re-invent himself all over again for other people, if he ever hoped to have a voice in the project. So personally, George never settled on a goal of that one "sound."  Perhaps that made him post-modern or something. Yeah, right. Obviously, he just lacked discipline or vision.  However, a common thread did begin to emerge among some songs after 10 years, and thus "Dobbs ver. 1.41" was born --compiled in a flurry of organizational inspiration, from a fistful of songs that were in various stages of completion.  The song with the newest content was "Waking Up," which lacked a middle-8 and lyrics as of 2001, even though it had basically been written in 1998. So now it is years later, and the songs have remained the same, but periodically the songs have been given "needed" updates, hence, the version number in the title.  Already moving on toward a more guitar driven sound, I was obvious that as complete a collection of the Dobbs  "R&B/Jazz" sound "1.41" was, it would never be completed a timely manner. Actually, 2 songs written in the 90's, ("Yes you Do Love Him" and "Let the Punishment..." ), were recorded in 2007/08 to replace 2 songs written with Declan Power that were deemed more appropriate to the NewBorn Pods ouvre. Hence, due to the "new" songs, plus new mixes of "Window to Your Soul" and others, now we are on version 1.42 ...for any of you paying attention.
ALL OF THESE SONGS ARE POSTED AT WWW.GARAGEBAND.COM/JUICEBOXGEORGE

COLLECTION #2:  GEORGE DOBBS - UNRELIABLE NARRATOR

Sophomore slump weighing heavily, and a computer crash in 2006 which lost 50% of the recordings, this has taken quite some time to come together. It is distinctly more guitar-driven. It should be ready round-about Spring 2009 (it was SUPPOSED to be ready at the end of 2008). And it pretty much is ready, all the songs posted on ReverbNation, in rough mixes,
at least.

1 - Re-Write History
2 - Highly Strung
3 - Self-Taught Man
4 - Idiot Savant  (featuring Walter Schick on Organ)
5 - Confessions
6 - 100 Percent of Nothing
7 - No End in Sight
8 - K____ T____
9 - Girlfriend Swallowed Up by New York City
10 - Always Gonna Pass
11 - Gone to Find My Home

COLLECTION #3

What with Collection #2 taking so long to congeal, Collection #3 has begun to take shape, stealing some of the more complex songs from the original Collection #2 lineup.  This should be much more ambitious sounding than any of my previous songs. Longer forms, and more expansive solo sections featuring athletic keyboard solos by friend and musical associate Walter Schick.

1 - Let the Whole Thing Slide (Rough mix posted. Featuring Walter Schick on synth, piano, and rhodes)
2 -
Bus (Rough mix posted.  Featuring rhodes solo by Walter Schick)
3 - One Pill
4 - Dave
5 - What is Real?
6 - Follow Through
7 - Your Every Emotional Meltdown (Featuring synth solo by Walter Schick)
8 - Under the Radar (Featuring synth solo by Walter Schick)
10 - If This is All You've Got
11 - Who Needs Love?
12 - Selling 2nd Chances
13 - More than Merely Human
14 -
Buried in the Ruins
