Bio
Joy Lynn makes her home in Waco, TX, with her husband Bob and stepson Jonathan. They are members of and attend First Baptist Church of Elm Mott, TX, where Joy Lynn resigned from her 3-year position as music minister to devote more time as a contact person for Life Ministries Evangelistic Association (LMEA) http://LifeMinistriesOnline.com as well as continuing as one of the Life Ministries singers. However, she is still very involved in the children’s program at her church. She has also briefly sung with the trio The Latimers, but throughout this time, she has remained devoted to LMEA since its humble beginnings in 2002.
About
Joy Lynn was raised in Dawson, TX, and she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and became a member of First Baptist Church of Dawson at 8 years of age. Joy Lynn always loved singing and finally got up the nerve to sing specials in front of the church congregation as a teenager. She also joined the choir and, feeling led to ministry at an early age, helped teach the GAs before moving to Austin, TX, toward the end of her junior year in high school, where she joined Walnut Creek Baptist Church and was active in the youth and choir there as well.
Several years later saw Joy Lynn back in her home town of Dawson and once again a member of FBC of Dawson, in the choir and helping with the youth group where she met Bobby Cave who later founded Life Ministries Evangelistic Association (LMEA). However, at the time, he was the youth minister at FBC and attending seminary. It would still be a few years before he would start LMEA, as their evangelist, and invite Joy Lynn to be one of the Life Ministries singers.
Joy Lynn soon married Bob Davis, and they moved their membership to FBC of Elm Mott, TX, in order to have a church closer to their home in Waco. Joy Lynn became immediately involved, helping teach the young adults Sunday School class, once again joining the choir, and teaching various children's programs--Bible Buddies, Bible Drills, VBS, AWANA, and teaching the children's Wednesday night programs. Finally, in 2002, Joy Lynn did help Bobby and fellow minister and backup guitar player Tommy Carson in starting LMEA as one of their singers, joined by Joy Lynn's mother Mary Foster, Tommy's wife Betty, and the Burlesons, Steve and Sharon and daughter Elizabeth, and Joy Lynn has remained devoted to this ministry ever since. In 2004, she also traveled for several months singing with the trio The Latimers but always stayed active in LMEA as well as her church in Elm Mott.
Later in 2004, Joy Lynn felt led to take the position of music minister at FBCEM, and she held that position for over 3 years while continuing to work with LMEA as well, but in 2007, Joy Lynn resigned as music minister at FBCEM to become more active as the contact person for LMEA after this ministry lost their precious friend and founder Bobby Cave in an automobile accident that March. Now LMEA is looking into recording their first CD project, and in the meantime, Joy Lynn is also enjoying creating the Gospel projects shared here at ReverbNation.
Joy Lynn still makes her home in the Waco area with her husband Bob and stepson Jonathan, and they remain very active at FBCEM where Bob is a deacon and Joy Lynn continues to teach the children on Wednesday nights.
