“After winning the 2012 singer songwriter contest in Eureka Springs’ at last year’s festival, The Josh Jennings Band has the opening slot on the main stage in Basin Park. It all started about a year ago when Josh Jennings had just finished up his album Ol’ Car which features Bob Alexander, a seasoned flat picker, and Kris Hurt on the stand up bass. The three-piece band was accepted to the finals at the 65th annual Ozark Folk Festival’s songwriters contest, held at Basin Park in downtown Eureka Springs. Six other performers would take the stage that day, all playing three original songs. The judges for the competition were a small well-known band, known as Trout Fishing in America. After winning at the Festival it has really opened up doors and helped the band to take the next step, Jennings said, playing over 60 shows within the last year. This Southwest Missouri band plays in Springfield, Joplin, Fayetteville, Miami, Eureka Springs and St Louis.”
