Bio
Joni's brand of soul is real music played by real music. Think of when Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye were considered pop music. Her writing is where joyful melodies meet deep grooves and evocative lyrics. Where the head is jazz, the personality is pop, and the heart is classic soul.
An accomplished singer, songwriter and musician, Joni seamlessly blends time honoured qualities of soul music with the swirling, bubbling, mish-mash of culture that characterizes the tapestry of her hometown of Toronto.. The craft of songwriting is one that she steadily endeavors to deepen and listeners are left feeling re-charged and uplifted while NehRita gently urges us to live more mindfully.
