The John Woods Band deliver a rootsy mix of styles varying from soulful acoustic melodies to driving reggae rhythms. Guitarist and songwriter John Woods writes lyrics that communicate earnest expressions of love and clever insights into everyday life, all delivered with warmth, sincerity and light-hearted cheek. Bass player Tim Bennett and drummer Dan Ryan complete the band, bringing passionate, energetic grooves and beautiful three-part harmonies. Not only do they create an engaging and lively atmosphere, but they maintain a great rapport with their audiences at every show they play.

Formed in early 2007 in Adelaide, they have gone from strength to strength over the past year and have rapidly developed a strong following in their hometown, selling out shows at some of Adelaide's leading live music venues. After recent airplay of their first EP 'Pockets' on Triple J and Nova, a spot on the Adelaide Big Day Out and a string of support slots alongside such diverse artists as Mia Dyson, Xavier Rudd, Lior and Deborah Conway, there's no telling where they're headed next.
