More About The Artist
|
Joe Mazzari played guitar in the early 1980s for The Daughters, a Boston area band. The Daughters eventually became the backing band for former New York Dolls guitar player Johnny Thunders. This gave Joe a chance to play alongside musicians like Jerry Nolan (New York Dolls) and Walter Lure (The Heartbreakers). Joe toured with Thunders for three years and recorded two albums with him, Diary of A Lover and In Cold Blood. After his stint with Thunders, Joe played in the band Two Saints during the late 1980s and 1990s. The band played up and down the East Coast, did three tours of the UK, released two albums and a handful of 45s. During the late 1990s, Joe played guitar in the English band Pussy Crush, contributing a couple of songs to their releases, and appearing with the band on John Peels' BBC radio show. The Joe Mazzari Band was formed in 2002. After some personnel changes, in 2006 the band released Long Live the King on RocknRoll Scene Records, and teamed with Red Car Records/Marketing in Boston. Currently Joe is playing again with the Two Saints, and planning a Daughters reunion show with other original members Bill Doughtery and Simon Ritt. He is also playing with Bill and former JMB drummer Carl Howard in a yet to be named project, and working on an acoustic album. |
