[Description] The Jefferson County Chapter joined Kentuckians For The Commonwealth (KFTC) in 1983. Thirty years later the chapter hosts 2,000 members from all over Louisville, Oldham County and across the bridge in Southern Indiana. While actively supporting all of KFTC’s statewide campaigns, our members have worked on local campaigns around coal ash, economic justice, affordable housing, police abuse, sweat shops, hazardous waste reduction and recycling. We want to celebrate our chapter's 30 year history with a Birthday Bash on Saturday, June 22nd at the Tim Faulkner Gallery in Butchertown. The event will be emceed by John Gage and Laura Shine. The music line-up includes: 12:00pm Jonny Sands and Paul Braun 12:45pm Joel Henderson 1:30pm The Blacktop Farmers 2:15pm Ted Stevens & the Third Rail 3:30pm TBA 4:15pm Kathleen Hoye 5:00pm Leigh Ann Yost 5:45pm Tristen Brooke 6:30pm Nellie Pearl 7:15pm Joan Shelley 8:00pm Beady 9:00pm The Nick Dittmeier Band 10:00pm John Gage & Friends The Birthday Bash will also feature testimonials from KFTC members and allies, family-friendly activities, KFTC and allied organizations issue stations, and a raffle. Raffle items include gift cards to local businesses and a weekend pass to the Forecastle Festival. The event takes place from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., rain or shine. There is a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for students. The event is free for children 17 and younger. Food will be available for purchase from Louisville Food Truck Association vendors Moe-Licious BBQ and Reds Comfort Foods. New Albanian and BBC beer and other drinks will also be available for purchase. KFTC is a 32-year-old non-partisan, member-run social justice organization working to ensure the voices of Kentuckians are heard and respected in our democracy.
