Q: Joe Killer Tracks. I was wondering was futureworld recorded with a variax guitar. Probably a strange question, but those guitars have a uniquie sound.

A: Hello thank you for the comment. The guitar tracks for FutureWorld were recorded with two separate guitars the basic rhythm track was done with a Dean Evo, with some heavy chorus on it. The second rhythm guitar was done dry with my HM series Fender Strat, I used the later setup for my solo as well. Both guitars were played thru a Marshall 100 watt JVM head. I was trying to blend a cross between EVH's tone with the heavy wall sound of Metallica's "Black CD". Cheers Joe
