Jo De La Rosa Bio
Immergent Records Recording artist Jo De La Rosa is best known for her staring roll on the BRAVO mega hit "The Real Housewives of Orange County." Jo spent two seasons on the show where she played herself as a sexy newcomer to the gate-guarded and ultra-exclusive community of Coto de Caza. For this Latin beauty, landing the role on The Real Housewives might have come easy but keeping up with her day-to-day obligations of press and media to promote her music and the show have proved to be quite challenging.
De La Rosa has been featured on The Today Show, Access Hollywood, Inside Edition, E! News and TV Guide’s Reality Chat. Radio interviews include Lezza Gibbons and Star 98.7 with Jamie, Jack and Stench. De La Rosa’s photos have also graced the covers of newspapers including The Orange County Register, LA Times, OC Weekly, Excelsior News and The Coto De Caza News. Magazine ads and articles include Playboy, PEOPLE, US Weekly, Star, TV Guide, OK and Coast Magazine as well as 944, LA Direct and even Celebrity Car Magazine.
Bravo TV is now in production on “Date My Ex,” a new reality dating series staring Jo De La Rosa and Slade Smiley. The show will touch on Jo’s new life in LA, the launch of her debut album “Unscripted” and her exciting misadventures as she begins her quest to look for love. "As De La Rosa's suitors will find out, you don't get Jo without her ex-fiance Slade," Bravo stated in its show announcement.
On August 19th, Jo will release her debut album, "Unscripted" under Immergent Records. Produced by Brian Todd and Smidi Smith, the album will be available for downloads on ITunes July 15th. Every song on the album is a little piece of the journey De La Rosa’s been through since she left OrangeCounty to start her life over in LA. The title “Unscripted” defines that journey in an autobiographical way.
De La Rosa is also presently being featured in a new project with ABC called Squeeges. Squeeges is backed by Disney and Touchstone Pictures and is ABC's new online series of comic shorts. Jo’s additional credits include a new movie set for release in 2008 called “The Penthouse.”
Jo also speaks on behalf of the Make A Wish Foundation where she has recorded a series of Public Service Announcements in both English and Spanish to bring attention to this worthy cause.
For De La Rosa, life wasn’t always as glamorous as portrayed in the Bravo series. Born in Lima, Peru as an only child, her parents moved to California when she was 3 years-old and settled down in the city of Mission Viejo in search of a better life for their daughter. De La Rosa graduated from the University of California Irvine, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Comparative Literature.
Training regularly in dance, singing and acting, De La Rosa always dreamed of working in the entertainment industry. With her constant requests to model and make guest appearances, De La Rosa’s dreams are certainly coming true
