Q: How did you get this good? Are you self-taught or did you have lessons?
A: Oh, that's really nice of you to say so, Luke. Thanks! I did have some tuition on piano when I was a teenager, but I'm largely self-taught on guitar (I did a jazz course after I'd been playing for ten or so years). I'm more of a jack-of-all-trades and there are a lot better players than me out there. Anyone can get good if they have the will to do it, it just takes time, practice and patience...a lot of patience! Listening to good tracks and repeatedly playing along with them. Long nights at the mixing desk too and trusting your ears. I believe the song is all important. If it's good, then you've a good foundation on which to build your performance or recording.
