About

How many times have you seen bios that say something ridiculous and flowery like “Her voice is like a cool summer’s breeze”? Don’t expect that here, though lying and exaggerating can be fun and acceptable in other situations like personal ads or when dealing with David Hasselhoff.

Jessica Paris, hailing from Ringoes, NJ went into the U.S. Army right after graduating from Hunterdon Central Regional H.S in Flemington. After a tour in Korea and Kansas she was honorably discharged and began to pursue music more aggressively. She got her Associate’s degree in music at Raritan Valley Community College and is now pursuing a Nutrition Degree at Rutgers University.

Paris breaks the mold from her female indie counterparts. A multi-talented musician, she sings, plays multiple instruments (she’s a fiend on the kazoo), and has a diverse catalog of styles. Her rhythmical guitar playing and vocal range commands attention - and not like that spoiled child in the supermarket that screams and you just want to put tape over it’s mouth. Her sense of humor is apparent on stage and in some of her lyrics (and mildly in this bio). Paris’ songs have commercial appeal while maintaining lyrical depth.

Her debut CD “tempting the gods” is thoughtful and provoking (unlike this bio). The project was completed with prominent NJ musicians and her fellow band members of Honey Spot Blvd. Playing regularly in the Tri-State area, solo and full band, Jessica is proving that she has the determination, talent, and stamina to make it in the music business.

So, can Jessica be compared to a cool summer’s breeze? I don’t think so; she’s more like a still hot summer’s day. She makes you perspire and feel uncomfortable at times, but yet the heat feels good.
