Questions

Ask J.R.S. anything...

Q: How long does it take you to lyrically write a song? What inspires your sound, composition? Your songs are about love, hurt love, correct? Is there anything you would like to sing about other than love missing someone turning tails on someone, righteous love? Is there a story behind Your Will? Why do you have two FTB songs? You sound great. I like BMS and WSB.

A: First, we would like to thank you for your insightful and interesting questions. When a fan is inquiring about any of our songs it shows that people are interested in the content of our music and this is exciting to us....so thank you! As far as the time it takes to write a song it varies. Some have taken us months and others hours. We feel it is important not force any song lyrically or musically. Our sound is inspired by our experiences and influences of music throughout all our lives. We do frequently write about the complex inn’s and out's of love. It is something that we feel passionate about as a band and something, we think, people can connect with. We have many other songs about different types of experiences that are either done or not recorded or still in the works. We feel it is important to be honest and truthful in our lyrics. For instance, "Your Will" was inspired by a woman whose strong influence and presents was the inspiration behind the lyrics. The lyric, “Do with me what you will” is a giving in point. It’s a statement of letting go of fear and succumbing to mercy of love. Control is something that is always battled with in a relationship and willingly letting go of control is the ultimate sacrifice. As for 2 FTB songs, I believe it was uploaded twice on accident. We are so humbled you like our music and we appreciate your questions about them. We put our heart and soul into our music and are overjoyed when it is appreciated and understood.
