“INNERVIEWS 'I WANTED TO BE A ROCK STAR' He dreamed of fame and fortune, singing and playing with a band, swarmed by groupies, a rock star. He chased the dream for several years on the road. He played in hotel cocktail lounges all over the country. But touring is tough. So is the competition. Finally, Jerald Greathouse found a niche for his music at home. As the club scene faded and demand for live bands dwindled, he tried performing with sequenced, or pre-programmed, music. That didn't move him. So he went back to basics, "just me and my guitar." He sings and plays acoustic guitar in area watering holes. And lo and behold, he's actually (gratefully and happily) earning a living at it. ”
